Why 'Compassionate' Nutrition?

We live in a body and brain which we did not chose, and which evolved to thrive in circumstances vastly different from those we now find ourselves in.
We live in an obesogenic environment - which we did not choose.
We have grown up in a culture - which we did not chose - that attaches social status to some body shapes, and stigmatises others.
We will likely have internalised these ideas. This is not our fault.
The society we live in orientates towards fear and shame as a way of "motivating" us to strive to be different. This can add to our difficulties.
And we need to look after the health of our body and brain, as these are the only place we have to live.

Together, let's navigate through these challenges in a different way:
Using the processes and ideas stemming from the wonderful work of Professor Paul Gilbert and the Compassionate Mind Foundation, we can befriend your inner critic and build up your compassionate inner coach so you can motivate yourself with kindness and compassion.
Next, we can to apply the science of nutrition and physical activity combined with evidence based behaviour change techniques I bring as an experienced AfN Registered Nutritionist, to forge a positive, solution focussed approach to achieve your health goals.
Compassionate Nutrition: Positive, kind and effective. Lets begin.
